Catch-Up

I have not posted anything in a while, things have been extra hectic and crazy lately! Here's is a bit of a catch-up post...

Emily is 15 months old. She is active, happy, loves people, puppies, and babies, and is learning and growing every day. She has added, "I love you", "thank you", "peek-a-boo", as well as "touchdown!" to her vocabulary. The "touchdown!" one is funny, she throws her hands up in the air and then drops them to her lap, and screams. She loves football! She can identify her body parts - nose, eyes, ears, mouth, hands, toes, tummy. She loves brushing her teeth and is quite particular about how she likes things done. She hates for her food to touch - typically American thing that I have never heard of until I got to the U.S. so I guess this is my punishment, a toddler who already doesn't like her potatoes to touch her green beans!

Our 15 month checkup went well. Emily is in the 90th percentile for height (32 inches) and 50 percentile for weight (almost 23 lbs.) The doctor was happy with her progress. She got 3 shots which she is still recovering from - for the first time ever, she had a reaction to them. We got a flu shot and will go in for another one in November. Hopefully, the flu will not come into our house this year!

Steve's parents flew to Taiwan to visit Allison, Collin, and baby Hannah, and just got back. They had a great trip! It's nice to have them back - we missed them!

October birthdays have been happening like crazy which of course we are all used to - Allison October 6th, Dad October 8th, Karen October 12th, Steve October 13th, now my Mom's is coming up on October 30th too. A month of birthdays and celebrations for our family.

I think that's all the news and updates....on to the pictures!

Breckenridge Park Outing.....

Chris gave Emily this cool toy - you put balls in the top part of it, hammer them down, and they go through tunnels and obstacles on their way down, before rolling out in front of you into a little tray. Emily loves it!

The hot pink velour suit is a gift to Emily from my best friend Natasha - so here we are sporting German clothes ;)

Vegging out on Daddy's office couch after a bath.

Emily with a curtain on her head - so typically Emily's behavior & personality....Steve says she looks Russian in this picture. Steve's sister Karen says she looks Russian all the time! :)

Mommy's little helper - loading the dishwasher. Once again in clothes from Natasha, too :)

I am so proud of this one - Emily and Monique (ok, mostly Monique of course) made this Halloween spider yesterday as the daycare-arts-project of the day. It glows in the dark, too, and the spider is made out of Emily's hand prints. Monique is amazing!! I can never get Emily to sit still for anything, but Monique can get her to do projects, get her nails painted, and get her to take 4 hours naps. What is her secret???? LOL

And now, Mommy's little helper is loading the dryer....she really does love doing that. I can't wait till she is school age and tall & strong enough to just do it herself - so I can lay on the couch :)

The new Chick-fil-A in Wylie. They had free brownies, balloons for the kids, a brand new playground, and everyone walked out with one of those toy CFA cows. Emily had a blast!

Daddy put together our Jeep jogging stroller for us this week. It was free, I got it with the Bank Points which they no longer award, so that was good timing on my part ;) It has a place to plug in my iPhone to listen to music, different speeds, shock absorbers in the wheels, 2 types of brakes, and glow-in-the-dark stripes for added security. I am in love with this thing!!! Can't wait to start using it all the time.
